Chef Challenge
Do you think you have what it takes to cook along side the Chefs from Salt Creek Grille, Yardley Inn and Rats? Better yet, could you top them in a head-to-head competition? Here's your opportunity to discover the answer-and perhaps chase down a lifelong dream.BUCKS LIFE magazine is searching for the best amateur chef to compete in the inaugural Mrs. G's Chef Challenge to benefit the United Way of Greater Mercer County. One lucky winner will be selected to face off against our local celebrity chefs in a cook-off on Thursday June 25th from 5:30p to 9p at Mrs. G TV & Appliance in Lawrenceville, NJ.
Contestants are asked to submit a 200-word essay addressing why they feel they should be selected, as well as an original, signature recipe, which, if selected, the winner will be asked to prepare against the signature dishes of the other chefs in the Challenge. The recipes should incorporate as many locally-grown ingredients as possible. Each Challenge chef will be provided with an oven and an induction cooktop. Challenge dishes will be judged by a panel of judges and also by the public. Judge’s Choice winner receives a 2 page signature spread featuring their recipe in the September/October issue. People’s Choice winner wins a flat screen TV.
